Common questions
- Should I apply micronutrients foliar or to the soil?
- Foliar fixes the deficiency you can see this week. Soil builds supply for next season when a test shows the whole field short. Citrus programs often use both: a soil base, then sprays on the spring and summer flushes.
- Is a chelated micronutrient better than a sulfate?
- In alkaline soil, usually. A sulfate costs less per pound of metal, but it reacts with the soil quickly. In acidic soil or in a foliar spray, the difference gets much smaller.
- Can I tank-mix micronutrients with other products?
- Often, but check both labels first and run a jar test with your own water and the exact products you plan to spray. Phosphorus and some pesticides can react with metals in the tank.
- How often should I apply?
- Let a tissue test tell you. Pull leaves before the first spray and again a few weeks after. If the numbers came up, the program is working; if they didn't, your rep can help you figure out why.
